I have been told for 2 months that as soon as I started school (yesterday , Jan 20th 2010) I could go to my regional office and get an emergency check. Today I find out it's only for last semester. No money for books, bills, food, nothing. Anyone know anything that will help?

Kelly,

Try speaking to the financial aid department at your school. If they have multiple military students attending that campus, they likely know the nightmare surrounding the Post 9/11 GI Bill. Military-friendly colleges should have representatives acquainted with the Post 9/11 GI Bill. I know the VA can be frustrating! :(

I have received my AAS in Business Management and I am currently furthering my education in Court Reporting(stenography). The school I am attending is a private school that offers a certificate and not a degree. I qualify for the Post 911 Bill, but cannot recieve the additional benefits such as, the BAH and funds to pay for my tuition just because it is not a higher learning school. I do not see the justification in this. I am still attending the school full time. Will there be in changes in this stipulation to recieve all the benefits?
