My husband transferred the gi bill post 911 to me about 8 months ago. Do I receive the BAH stipened or not. At the time though I was going online, I am thinking of tranferring to an University here but want to get all the information I can first. I am very confused on how all of this works. Everything I read states that a spouse will not receive these allowances if the member is on active duty. However, my wife received a letter from the Dept of Veterans Affairs with 4 pages of information, and one paragraph in particular titled Books and Supplies Stipend with a payment amount of $291.69 which she received. Also, the first of the month she received a direct deposit which is equivilant to E-5 w/dependent BAH. The letter also states that the transferor is currently on active duty, so the Dept of Veterans Affairs knows she is a dependent, and that I am on active duty. Is this correct?
