Fifteen States with the Highest Post 9/11 GI Bill Benefits

The active duty, reserve, and veterans of the United States military rejoice over the benefits of the Post 9/11 GI Bill, offering tuition that matches the economy the same way the Montgomery GI Bill covered tuition in 1944.

With the way the Post 9/11 GI Bill is designed, however, the benefits vary state-to-state, so some states are generally better locations to pursue higher education than others. The Veterans Benefits GI Bill is proud to provide a list of the fifteen states with the highest benefits military personnel going back to school with the Post 9/11 GI Bill‘s benefits.

  1. Texas, at a maximum of $1,333 per credit hour, $12,130 fees per term
  2. New York, at a maximum of $970 per credit hour, $3,457 fees per term
  3. Michigan, at a maximum of $953 per credit hour, $18,421 fees per term
  4. New Hampshire, at a maximum of $933 per credit hour, $4,768 per term
  5. Pennsylvania, at a maximum of $700 per credit hour, $8,205 fees per term
  6. Flordia, at a maximum of $682 per credit hour, $3,172 fees per term
  7. Wisconsin, at a maximum of $663 per credit hour, $30,979 fees per term
  8. Delaware, at a maximum of $590 per credit term, $665 fees per term
  9. Illinois, at a maximum of $558 per credit term, $5,126 fees per term
  10. Arizona, at a maximum of $490 per credit hour, $127 fees per credit term
  11. Utah, at a maximum of $488 per credit hour, $2,176 fees per term
  12. Connecticut, at a maximum of $486 per credit hour, $1,946 fees per credit term
  13. Ohio, at a maximum of $477 per credit hour, $12,280 fees per term
  14. Colorado, at a maximum of $419 per credit hour, $43,035 fees per term
  15. Oregon, at a maximum $407 per credit hour, $42,828 fees per term
